For example, if you were vaccinated against say Hepatitus B, is there any chance at all you could get Hepatitus B from someone? And if someone had some STD, could you get it from a mosquito that bit someone with an STD?

I work for the State. We don’t have a lot of spitters these days, but when we do it isn’t a “sneak attack”. My facility stresses wearing gloves and washing hands, even while doing pat searches, shakedowns or going through an inmate’s property.

Officers’ deal with inmates who could at any moment attack, spit, and even vomit on them. What precautions are you taking to protect yourself from the unknowns of your everyday job?
