For example, if you were vaccinated against say Hepatitus B, is there any chance at all you could get Hepatitus B from someone? I work for the State. We don’t have a lot of spitters these days, but when we do it isn’t a “sneak attack”. My facility stresses wearing gloves and washing hands, even while doing pat searches, shakedowns or going through an inmate’s property. |

Correction officers have to handle hostile inmates during the booking and intake process and during everyday duties, exposing you to a wide assortment of germs. Officers’ deal with inmates who could at any moment attack, spit, and even vomit on them. What precautions are you taking to protect yourself from the unknowns of your everyday job? |
