Inmate charged in murder-for-hire plot

A Simi Valley man awaiting trial on charges of child molestation has been accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill four people expected to testify against him.

The Ventura County district attorney’s office says David Kenneth Beech, 58, tried to arrange the murder of four women while in custody. He was arrested Jan. 8 on the new charges and pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday.

Beech has been incarcerated since Jan. 9, 2015 at the Ventura County pre-trial detention facility on suspicion of possessing child pornography and multiple counts of comm itting lewd acts on a child, Ventura County Sheriff ’s Sgt. Eric Buschow said.
