LOWELL - A man who, deputies said, admitted to smuggling cigarettes into a prison for an inmate was arrested Sunday and charged with introducing contraband into a detention facility. A corrections officer at Lowell Correctional Institution at 11120 NW Gainesville Road found a bundle of homemade cigarettes rolled up in plastic wrap on a table where two people had been sitting and reported the find to a supervisor.
