| Description: | Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Deputy Director for Operations, oversees the management of assigned Correctional Institutions in accordance with State and Federal Laws and sound correctional practices. Tracks trends and identifies red flags that could be detrimental to the Institutions under the scope of the assigned region. Conducts routine inspections of Institutions in the assigned region regarding operations, safety, sanitation, management, are in compliance with state and federal policies. Responds to onsite emergency situations within correctional institutions. Actively participates and assists with inmate escape and apprehension. Provides direct supervision for the Wardens and participates in selection panel for Warden positions when they are open. Reviews and implements policies and procedures to ensure that institutional post orders comply with South Carolina Department of Correction's policies. The selected candidate understands that there is the possibility of unscheduled duty for which no additional compensation nor compensatory time off is required. This position does require daily travel. |
